On July 22nd Cori, David, Mandy, Ryan, Roxane, and Taylor will run the Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll Chicago Half Marathon!
We’re fundraising for OpenBooks, a non-profit that provides used books and literacy programs to Chicago youth. Our goal is to raise $800 which will support Open Books’ literacy and book granting programs.
We want to have some “fun” in our FUNdraising efforts. Not only will your dollars support an amazing organization, you can also make us listen to terrible music while we train for the run.
Here’s how it works:
- Donate
- Pick one person OR the entire team
- Pick a terrible/annoying/no-good/very bad song
- We will listen to that song on our next training run
BONUS: Every song you pick gets added to our TERRIBLE RUNNING PLAYLIST. For a few more dollars, you could also make us listen to the playlist for an entire training run.

Team Bookin' It
Open Books' annual fundraiser Team Bookin' It (TBI), brings together runners, virtual runners, and donors in support of literacy. TBI is part of the Humana Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon, July 21-22. The race includes a 5K on Saturday, July 21 and a 10K and Half Marathon on Sunday, July 22. The race takes place at Grant Park. Proceeds of TBI 2018 benefit Open Books' literacy and book granting programs that reach thousands of children each year.

Open Books transforms lives through reading, writing, and the GIVING power of used books. Open Books brings the joy of literacy to 5,000 children, and donates over 150,000 books to children, families, and under-resourced communities in Chicagoland this year.
