Welcome again to my Open Books Team Bookin' It fundraising page!
Remember all the fun we've had the last two years? Well it ain't over yet!
For those of you who do not know, Open Books is a nonprofit organization that promotes and coordinates literacy education programs for students across Chicago. Since its founding, Open Books has worked directly with tens of thousands of students and reached hundreds of thousands more through book grant programs, community events, and literacy partnerships. I have been on the Associate Board for the last two years and it has been an awesome experience!
On Sunday, July 21st, I will be running the Rock'n'Roll Half-Marathon to raise money for Open Books. As in past years, for every $10 you donate I will add a song of your choice to a completely new running playlist made just for this occasion.
In the past, folks generous enough to donate have also been kind enough to bless me with songs that really motivated me to run faster and finish the race so that I could liberate my ears. Some of the greatest hits include:
1. "Photograph" by Nickelback
2. "The Song That Never Ends" by various random groups of over-caffeinated summer campers
3. "Priests of Sodom" by Cannibal Corpse
4. "It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls
5. "Mambo #5" by Lou Bega
Fun Fact: Because Cameron Jordan donated $50 and only requested "Mambo #5," I added it to last year's playlist five times. I then listened to it seven (7) times over the course of the half marathon! Fun!

I hope you will donate and provide me with some memorable musical selections! Whatever the music requested (and hey, do your worst), I will grind it out if it means raising money to support childhood literacy programs. I hope you will donate and support that cause too.

About Team Bookin' It (TBI)!
Open Books' annual fundraiser Team Bookin' It, brings together runners and virtual runners in support of literacy. TBI is part of the Humana Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Half Marathon, July 20-21. The race includes a 5k on Saturday, July 20 and a 10k and Half Marathon on Sunday, July 21. The race takes place at Grant Park.
If you're not into running, you can still be part of the TBI team! Sign up as a virtual runner, and let your fundraising creativity shine! Proceeds from TBI support Open Books' literacy and book granting programs.

10K: $500
5K and Virtual Runner: $300
